Here's what we've been building over the years. Each project tells its own story - some were smooth sailing, others taught us a thing or two. What they all share? A commitment to creating spaces that don't just look good but actually work for the people using them.
This one was a challenge we really enjoyed. The client wanted net-zero energy but didn't wanna sacrifice the aesthetic. We worked with passive house principles while keeping that Toronto character intact. Triple-glazed windows, super insulation, the works. It's been three winters now and their heating bills are basically non-existent.

A four-story office space that actually encourages people to come into work. We focused on natural light - tons of it - and created these collaboration zones that don't feel forced. The green roof isn't just for show either; it manages stormwater and dropped the cooling costs by about 30%.

Retail on ground level, creative studios on second, residential units up top. The trick was making sure everyone had their own identity while the building still felt cohesive. We used reclaimed brick and added these industrial-style windows that nod to the neighborhood's history.
A growing family needed more space but loved their neighborhood too much to move. We went up and back, adding a second story and extending the rear. The new layout flows way better - kitchen opens to the living area, which opens to the backyard. They're actually using every room now instead of cramming into one space.

Converting an old printing shop into a restaurant meant dealing with some quirky structural stuff. We kept the exposed brick and beams - they've got character you can't fake. Added skylights to brighten things up and designed the kitchen flow to actually make sense for the chef's workflow.

You can make old buildings energy-efficient without stripping away what makes them special. This 1890s Victorian needed serious work - drafty windows, no insulation, outdated systems. We upgraded everything while preserving the original moldings, staircase, and facade details. It's now one of the most efficient homes on the block.

Clean lines, lots of glass, and a connection to the ravine behind it. The clients wanted contemporary but not cold. We used warm woods alongside the concrete and steel, and designed the layout so there's always a view of the trees no matter where you're standing.

A design agency needed space that'd inspire their team. We created different zones - quiet focus areas, loud collaborative spaces, and everything in between. Acoustic panels shaped like geometric art, movable furniture, and plants everywhere. Oh, and a killer espresso bar because priorities.

This was about creating a little community within a building. Cafe and shops at street level bring foot traffic, co-working space on floor two, and apartments above. We included a shared rooftop garden because honestly, who doesn't want that? The whole thing's designed to encourage neighbors to actually meet each other.

Former garment factory turned into eight loft units. We kept all the good stuff - the timber columns, original hardwood, massive windows - and added modern necessities like proper HVAC and soundproofing between units. Each loft's a bit different since we worked with the existing structure rather than forcing everything into identical boxes.
